The shareholdings held by BGH in the respective underlying subsidiaries vary according to the nature of the operations conducted by the underlying company, coupled with any regulatory requirements imposed by various stakeholders and/or departments.
Given that BGH, through its subsidiary Iyanga Mining (Pty) Ltd, supplies coal to Eskom under short term supply agreements, this entity for example is 51% empowered, and 49% held by BGH.

01. OUR HISTORYBurgh Group was established in 2004 and is headed by Quinton van der Burgh (CEO), Stanley van der Burgh (COO) and Ross Robertson (CFO and MD). Quinton van der Burgh has more than 14 years’ experience in marketing and mergers and has headed several similar companies both locally and aboard.
02. CORE BUSINESSAt BGH we focus purely on the coal industry and limit our immediate operations to the Mpumalanga area, with a key focus on the Delmas, Witbank and Middelburg coal fields. As an ancillary function to the mining operations conducted within the Group. The Group, through BPH has also focused on developing a significant yellow equipment division that is capable of managing and mining any opencast projects undertaken within the Group.

One of the largest plant and earth-moving equipment hire companies in eMalahleni, the coal mining hub of South Africa.
Burgh Group Holdings beneficiates 500 000 tons per month and sells the coal into various markets; both locally and outside of the South African borders.
